The Dogue de Bordeax has one of the largest heads in the mastiff world and possess huge jaw muscles that can produce a bite force of around 550psi! These dogs love to chew so having tough chews readily available is a must.
When viewed from the front or from above, the head of the Dogue forms a trapezoid shape with the longer top-line of the skull, and the shorter line of the underjaw, forming the parallel sides of the trapezoid. The jaw is undershot and powerful. As a result the Dogue de Bordeaux have one of the strongest bites in the dog world. They generally have the biggest heads out of mastiffs.
